Museum Hours for 2010: Starting June 14th until Labor Day the museum is open 7 days a week, 10:00 AM TO 4:00PM. From Labor Day (September 6th) to Columbus Day (October 11th) the museum is open weekends, noon to 3:00 pm. After Columbus Day, the museum closes until Spring, 2011, but do call us at (401) 423-3270 or e-mail us if you have a tour group you'd like to bring to the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum! |
Beavertail may be reached via Rhode Island route 138 from the east or west side of Narragansett Bay. After crossing the Jamestown bridge (from north Kingstown) or the Newport Bridge (from Newport), follow the signs to Jamestown Center. Continue southward past Mackerel Cove Town Beach to Beavertail State Park at the tip of the island. |

We are pleased to participate in the Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day, Saturday, September 25th, 2010. Note* Children less than 4’ tall are not allowed to climb the tower. All climbers must have both hands free for the ladder at the head of the stairs. Visitors will also want to visit the Jamestown Historical Society’s sites, the Windmill, the Museum and the Conanicut Meeting House, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. A Call for Artists: Paint Beavertail
